About Me

I am a second-year English graduate student at the University of Alaska Anchorage. After graduating from UAA with a major in English and minor in political science, I wanted to go deeper into the studies of multimodality and how it is changing traditional communication; taking a graduate degree seemed like a logical choice. I hope to gain a broader understanding of that field in study in general as I coordinate this year's Pacific Rim conference of Literature and Rhetoric. Its theme was heavily inspired by my experience at the Digital Media and Composition institute, a two-week workshop with some of the finest minds currently studying multimodality. Following the completion of this degree, I plan to obtain a degree in speech-language pathology, where I can examine methods of communication in a whole new light.

Along with my studies, I also work as the assistant to the Digital Composition Studio coordinator and a balloon twister for local restaurants and birthday parties. In my free time, I enjoy reading, dancing, and practicing my caricature work.
